About Alexis

PROFILE

Alexis Sowder is a director of client services with KSM Location Advisors, where she plays a pivotal role in project execution. Collaborating with clients and economic development officials, Alexis specializes in both location advisory and incentives negotiation assignments. Her expertise in navigating incentive programs, coupled with well-established relationships with state and local officials, ensures our clients receive the maximum incentives package available.

Prior to joining the KSM Location Advisors team, Alexis worked at Cushman & Wakefield where she contributed to the growth of their national brokerage practice groups. At Cushman & Wakefield, she excelled in enhancing relations, promoting brokerage specialties, and actively participating in various business development initiatives. Alexis brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record to her role, making her an invaluable asset to our team.

EDUCATION

Alexis received a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from Indiana University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business – Indianapolis.

ASSOCIATIONS AND COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Alexis is a licensed Indiana Real Estate Broker. She has held impactful community service roles in various organizations, including serving as treasurer of Kappa Alpha Theta Housing Corporation Board as well as chairman of the Public Affairs Committee for the Indiana Chapter of NAIOP, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association.

Currently, Alexis plays a crucial role in community service and education serving as a board member and treasurer of Circle City Prep, a college preparatory charter school for students on the Far Eastside of Indianapolis. Alexis is a proud member of the Hamilton County Leadership Academy (HCLA) Class of 2024. She is also a member of the 2020 Class of United Way’s Leadership United program, where she served as a board fellow for St. Mary’s Child Center.

Internally, at Katz, Sapper & Miller, Alexis is a member of the firm’s diversity, equity, and inclusion initiative called INSPIRE. Her dedication to creating an inclusive environment aligns with INSPIRE’s mission to improve KSM’s success in attracting, retaining, and developing talented individuals of all backgrounds, ensuring equal opportunities for everyone to achieve their full potential.
