Donna Niesen is an advisory partner with KSM Location Advisors. She works closely with companies during the site selection and competitive bid process, assisting with state and local tax comparative analysis and review of credit applicability in complex business structures. Donna also provides guidance to the compliance services team on economic development programs.
In addition to her role with KSM Location Advisors, Donna is a partner at Katz, Sapper & Miller and leads their State and Local Tax Group.
Donna came to KSM with eight years of Big Four tax and accounting experience, focusing on multistate income and sales tax consulting. Her experience with state and local taxes in all 50 states enables her to effectively serve multistate clients in all domestic jurisdictions. Donna has significant experience assisting clients in multiple industries, including manufacturing and distribution, financial services, life sciences, technology, retail, healthcare, transportation, and logistics.
Donna received a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Marian College.
Donna is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Indiana CPA Society, where she serves on the Tax Resource Advisory Council. Additionally, Donna serves on the Indiana Manufacturers Association’s Tax Committee, the Indiana Chamber of Commerce Tax Policy Committee, and the Advisory Council to the Commissioner of the Indiana Department of Revenue. She was named by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce as a 2019 Samuel C. Schlosser Volunteer of the Year in recognition of the time and expertise she has given to the Chamber for the benefit of all Hoosier businesses.
